Napoli make final decision on £60m Darwin Nunez transfer after meeting with Liverpool star's agent

Napoli are ready to go out all for Nunez this summer as they aim to strengthen their squad, according to the Napoli had set a deadline on the transfer and have now decided the Uruguay international is indeed worth pursuing following a meeting between club owner Aurelio De Laurentiis and Nunez's agent Fali Ramadani.

Nunez is open to a move away after slipping down the pecking order at Anfield. The forward is said to be eager to work with Antonio Conte in Italy, meaning it's now down to the two clubs to strike an agreement. Napoli have already signed Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City but will be hoping they can add another Premier League star to their squad in time for the new campaign.

Liverpool signed Nunez for an initial £64 million ($79m) and will not let him leave on the cheap. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano offered some insight on his YouTube channel: "Napoli at the moment still want Darwin Nunez, but feel that the transfer fee is too high. Liverpool want more than €65m [£55.6m], probably in excess of €70m [£59.9m] for Darwin Nunez. At the moment, Napoli believe that the numbers of this deal are excessive, too expensive,” transfer guru Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel."
